  1. I have a feeling Cammy will miss the opener. The one mitigating item that he may have going in his favour is what seemed to trigger the whole episode; The blindside head shot by Niederreiter that didn’t connect thankfully.

  2. It’s not a suspendable offense. Never was. Also, Nino tried to kill him two seconds before with the very play the NHL is trying to get rid of. (Ye olde blindside hit. Last thing we need is for Cammy to be knocked out for the season with a Savard-like concussion). Then again, the NHL works in mysterious ways.

Ryan White wasn’t on the ice at the time. If he were, he would have gone after Nino instead.

  3. The hit on Cammalleri was harsh to begin with… then Nino and Cammy obviously exchanged words… which got Cammy round up, Nino didnt seem to give up as Cammy was going for the puck, Cammy got pissed and gave Nino a peice of his anger…. Its the 1st time we see cammy’s anger show like this in a game….

Question is, what will happen now? 1-3 game suspension? but its pre-season does it count? and what about the far harsher hits we’ve seen in the NHL that players havent been suspended for?

I agree, is white was on the ice, Nino would have had a harder hit and fight lol….

  4. Are you people watching the same clip? You act like Nino David Boothe-ed Cammalleri. If the league disciplines Nino at all, then Cammalleri should get at least five games. A swing to Niederreiter’s face, three cross checks, and then the lumberjack swing to the ankles. Knowing the NHL, Nino will get suspended and Cammalleri will get a fine. The league does nothing to protect the Islanders against garbage like this.

  5. I know we’re all Habs fans here but c’mon people, how can you justify this? Cammy cross-checked him when he didn’t have the puck, intentionally slashed his face, cross-checked him two or three more times when he didn’t have possession, then two-handed him while his back was turned. Does this strike you as something a professional should be doing? I’m thinking the short suspension and the fine he got was pretty merciful personally.

What I’m wondering is exactly what was said around the time of the face-slash; Cammy probably just challenged Nino to a fight and Nino backed down. Whatever he said, there’s no excuse to go berserk like that.

  6. are YOU people watching the same video??? a 2-hander battle axe chop to the leggs? seriously? that tap to the calves resulted in a basic dive because wussy was scared he may have to be responsible for his previous actions. That’s what’s wrong today, pull an Avery & turtle when someone calls you on it – puss in boots will get his cumupence once he starts that s@#t in a real game, and it just might be something that will end his career, not a ticked off 5 foot niner, but a Laroque-esque individual may end up fixing his wagon.

  7. Jay – U R onto sumpthin there – NHL will frown on the retalliation & overlook the cause tho, sad as that is. Karma is a b!@ch as they say!
