TRADE | Montreal Canadiens Marc Bergevin  Traded Forward Matthew Peca to Ottawa Senators for Aaron Luchuk and a Seventh-Round Pick in 2020 NHL Entry Draft

MONTREAL, QC. — On Monday, the Montreal Canadiens announced that general manager Marc Bergevin traded forward Matthew Peca to the Ottawa Senators for Aaron Luchuk  and a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

In 45 games for the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL this season, Luchuk has tallied 19 goals, 31 assists for 50 points. The 22-year-old has also suited up for four games in the AHL for the Belleville Senators and Toronto Marlies.

In 34 games with the Laval Rocket, Peca recorded four goals, nine assists for 13 points this season. He also played five games for the Canadiens.

On July 1st, 2018, Peca signed a two-year, $2.6 million contract with the Canadiens. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
