  • Roster news – Canadiens announced the appointment of Marie-Philip Poulin as a part-time player development consultant. Francis St. Pierre was announced as the Assistant Equipment Manager of the Montreal Canadiens. Canadiens announced the signing of defenseman Chris Wideman to a two-year contract extension.
  • Habs prospect report – The AHL Eastern Conference final is underway between the Laval Rocket and the Springfield Thunderbirds. Canadiens prospect Joshua Roy made his Laval Rocket debut in Game 3. Gianni Fairbrother played his first career AHL playoff game in Game 4. Jan Mysak had a game-winning overtime goal and added an assist as the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the Windsor Spitfires 3-2. Xavier Simoneau recorded four assists and William Trudeau had two goals as the Charlottetown Islanders beat the Shawinigan Cataractes 7-0. Canadiens player development coach Francis Bouillon said Oil Kings defenceman Kaiden Guhle is the organization’s brightest prospect.

  • This week, we watched as the Montreal Canadiens made one personnel move for the short term and one that is unlikely to have an impact for several years.

  • Once again, the Canadiens appointed a person without experience in their new role: Marie-Philip Poulin as a part-time player development consultant.

  • The first signing of a player who was on the active roster last season was Chris Wideman. The veteran defenceman received a two-year contract extension.

    kaden guhle seems to be the real deal.in other words,we will find a way to send him elsewhere???.just kiddin eh.not with kent et gorton.they seem to know what they are doing.finally!!!
    (memories of ryan mcdonough and more recently,sergachev are still haunting us,eh)
    paid admission for the draft?the rich get richer eh.should be free admission.point a la ligne.nhl/lnh take enough of our money$$$ as it is,,,.
    love the laval rocket eh.tough those guys.like their coach.really like j.f.houle.sound fundamentals.no nonsense.says it like it is.no coddlin.yet supportif et always encouragement for the players/team.
    after losing game 3 the other nite at laval he said something that reminded me of another some years past.
    something like:”we need to play much better.cannott let springfield push us around.have to play tougher,etc or springfield will defeat us”.that other coach some years past?
