Scouting Report on 2008 Prospect: Jamie Arniel

Jamie Arniel

NHL Director of Central Scouting, E.J. McGuire:
“Jamie is one of the best face-off men in all of the CHL. He came to the CHL Top Prospects Game missing a couple teeth from two days early and shows that kind of grit in every shift he plays on the ice. He is a true sniper, he has the ability to tuck the puck in someone’s skates, pull it out and snap it at the net. He is a good two-way skater and a good forechecker as well as backchecker. Jamie is going to be a solid NHL’er.”

Hockey’s Future (Jason Menard):

A mid-season trade (for Harrison Reid) didn’t impact Arniel’s production as after posting 13 points in 20 games with the Storm, he compiled 18 goals and 34 points in 40 matches with the Sting. All told, the 5’10, 183-pound center has a solid, if less-than-overwhelming forward. He has good overall skating ability and can get to the net. Not an overwhelming talent, but he’s a solid contributor to the lineup. Arniel remains a solid but unspectacular first-round hopeful.
