Game Report

The Canadiens need approximately 25 points in their remaining 11 games to make the playoffs. Just a public service announcement for those who still “believe.”

 It was another Bell Centre loss. Habs fans have only witnessed 14 wins in 37 home games this season. Mercifully, the Canadiens have just four games left in Montreal this season.

Claude Julien juggled three of his four lines this evening looking to create more scoring opportunities. The Habs top-six forwards had generated next to nothing in the two games in Florida last week.

Many fans were excited to see Max Domi playing with Brendan Gallagher expecting them to bring energy and create fireworks, Unfortunately the trio of Domi, Gallagher and Charles Hudon proved to be a dud.

The ‘top’ line of Phillip Danault with Paul Byron and Joel Armia was also ineffective remaining invisible most of the night.

It was the Canadiens third line of Nick Suzuki centering Artturi Lehkonen and Jordan Weal that had the most offensive zone time thanks to a strong, sustained forecheck. 

Lukas Vejdemo scored his first National Hockey League goal. Following the game, the Habs assigned Vejdemo to Laval.

The team announced that Tomas Tatar will be out indefinitely with an upper body injury. He will not require surgery.

The Canadiens practice on Wednesday morning at 11:30 am. as they prepare for Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
