MONCTON, N.B. –- Despite the Montreal Canadiens officially being eliminated from participating in this year’s playoffs, they’re still aiming for as many wins as possible and managed to take two of their three matchups this past week.

Here are my choices for the top three stars of this week:

First Star: Torrey Mitchell

He had a great week, racking up two goals and an assist, as well as registering six shots on goal and a plus-3 rating. He is also on a two-game scoring streak.

Second Star: Sven Andrighetto

This forward earned one goal, two assists and six shots on goal this past week. And prior to a pointless April 2nd game for him, he did have a three-game point streak in the last three games of the month of March.

Third Star: Max Pacioretty

This leading point producer for the Canadiens racked up another three points this week with two goals and an assist, as well as a plus-3 rating and ten shots on goal. His game-winning goal against the Red Wings on Tuesday, March 29th ranks him first overall on the team with five in total.

Honorable Mention: David Desharnais

He returned to the lineup on March 24th from the injured reserve and has registered three points in his last four games, including two goals this past week. He is tied for second place on the team with four game-winning goals, including the one he scored in Thursday night’s (March 31st) shutout against the Lightning. He is currently on a two-game scoring streak.

Max Pacioretty – 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist)
