MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled forwards Mike Blunden and Patrick Holland from the Bulldogs.

Blunden, 26, has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) and four penalty minutes in three games with Hamilton this season and is currently tied for the team lead in goals. The Toronto, Ontario native split last season between Hamilton and Montreal. In 54 regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6’4”, 214-pound forward recorded 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) and 76 penalty minutes. In five regular season games with the Canadiens, Blunden recorded no points and four penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (43rd overall) in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Holland, 21, has recorded two points (one goal, one assist) and no penalty minutes in four games with Hamilton this season and currently leads the team in plus/minus at +4. Last season, in 69 regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6’0”, 175-pound forward recorded 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) and eight penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (193rd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22nd, when they will host the Rockford IceHogs (AHL Affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks) at Copps Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.
