MONTREAL – The Canadiens have acquired right winger Thomas Vanek from the New York Islanders and a conditional fifth round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in return for Sebastian Collberg and a conditional second round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
In 60 games this season with the Sabres and the Islanders, the 30 year-old has put up 21 goals and 32 points for a total of 53 points.
Vanek, 6’0″, 217lb, will be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.
