PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL– Montreal Canadiens general manager, Pierre Gauthier, announced tonight the acquisition of forwards Rene Bourque and Patrick Holland, as well as a 2nd-round draft pick in 2013 from the Calgary Flames, in return for forward Michael Cammalleri, goaltender Karri Ramo and a 5th-round draft pick in 2012.

Rene Bourque, 30, first joined the Calgary Flames prior to the 2008-2009 season. In 38 games this season, the 6’ 2’’ and 211 lbs forward recorded 13 goals and added 3 assists and was assessed 41 penalty minutes. He scored three powerplay goals.

Bourque also played with the Chicago Blackhawks from 2005 to 2008 after spending four seasons with the University of Wisconsin (WCHA). A native of Lac La Biche, Alberta, Bourque was traded from Chicago to Calgary on July 1st, 2008 in return for the Flames’ second round pick in 2010. He totalled 239 points (121 goals, 118 assists) and 377 penalty minutes in 432 career regular season games in the NHL.

Patrick Holland, 20, is a member of the Tri-City Americans of the WHL where he has played for the last three seasons. A 7th round selection, 193rd overall in 2010, Holland scored 17 goals and added 40 assists for 57 points in 40 games thus far this season. A 6’1’’ and 175 lbs forward, Holland hails from Lethbridge, Alberta.

Michael Cammalleri registered 9 goals and 13 assists in 38 games this season with the Canadiens. He was in his third season with the Club. He was signed by the Canadiens as a free agent on July 1st, 2009.

Karri Ramo is currently tending goal with the Russian team Avangard Omsk in the KHL. He played in 34 games (13-14-7). He had been acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning on August 16, 2010 in return for goaltender Cédric Desjardins.
