This is a link to a story by Adam Sherlip, a self-described ‘hockey volunteer’, who is in India to coach and promote the game of hockey. Sherlip’s first stop is in Ladakh, a Himalayan region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

To my surprise, there is a Montreal Canadiens connection.

    excerpt:

“Beginning in 2007, the Montreal Canadiens have been supporting Health, Inc., a non-profit operating in rural Ladakh. They held coaching clinics in Ladakh, as well as donating equipment.”

He is also proud that Habs Tweetups have allowed fans to meet in person and develop long lasting friendships.
