	On this day in hockey history… 1937 — Howie Morenz scores the 271st and final goal of his NHL career during the Montreal Canadiens’ 4-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Chicago Stadium.  1981 — Mike Bossy matches Maurice Richard’s record of 50 goals in 50 games when he scores twice late in the third period of the New York Islanders’ 7-4 victory against the Quebec Nordiques at Nassau Coliseum. 2001 — Mario Lemieux scores a goal in each period for his 40th NHL hat trick. He has all three goals for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 3-1 victory against Montreal at Mellon Arena. Lemieux scores his three goals on three shots.

► Game Day

• The Canadiens cancelled their game day skate in Brossard this morning due to weather concerns. Freezing rain arrived overnight followed by a layer of snow making driving conditions hazardous in the city.
• With Alex Galchenyuk on the sidelines again, the Canadiens are expected to lineup this way against the Calgary Flames at 7:30 pm. In Monday’s practice the lines and defensive pairings were as follows:

Pacioretty – Danault – Radulov
Lehkonen – Plekanec – Byron
Andrighetto – Flynn – Shaw
Carr – De La Rose – Mitchell

Emelin – Weber
Beaulieu – Petry
Barberio – Redmond

► Not again!

• Alex Galchenyuk will miss Tuesday’s game against Calgary as he has re-aggravated his knee injury. Galchenyuk did not practice with his teammates on Monday in Brossard. The team announced that Galchenyuk was taking a therapy day.
• Michel Therrien said that Galchenyuk was hurt in Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres but stressed that, in his opinion, the Canadiens young centre had not returned too quickly from his knee injury.

#Habs Therrien said Galchenyuk "lightly injured" himself near the end of the Buffalo game. It is the same injury & AG will not play Tuesday.

► Gallagher skates

• Brendan Gallagher returned to the ice on Monday in Brossard but with a modification to his equipment. After pleading with his doctor to skate, Gallagher was granted permission with the caveat that the blade be removed from his stick.
• The bladeless stick allowed Gallagher to skate but removed the temptation for him to shoot the puck reducing the risk to the hand he broke on January 4th. Gallagher said that the doctors did not trust him.

► IceCaps host baby Leafs

• The St. John’s IceCaps host the Toronto Marlies for two games this upcoming weekend to complete their eight game homestand.

• Following the AHL All-Star break, the IceCaps will head to Pennsylvania for six games.

► Light schedule

• After a tough stretch of eight games in two weeks. The Canadiens schedule gets a bit lighter this week. The Habs play at home on Tuesday against the Flames and on the road in Brooklyn on Thursday against the Islanders. 
• This is only third time this season Montreal will have a week with less than three games
• With the condensed schedule this season due to the introduction of bye weeks, the Canadiens only have two more weeks this season with three games or fewer. The next one occurs on their bye week February 13^th-February 17^th.

► Lehkonen shines

• With Artturi Lehkonen’s goal from Saturday night he’s up to 11 on the season. He’s tied for fourth in that category amongst rookies. Lehkonen is also tied for third on the Canadiens in goals with 11.
• Lehkonen has been very effective this season at generating scoring chances. He is strong on teh forecheck, effective at creating turnovers and very responsible in his own zone.
• Lehkonen was a second round draft choice in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, where the Canadiens had three second round picks.
• Taken 55th overall, Lehkonen was the lowest of the three picks but has progressed the most, well ahead of the much heralded Zach Fucale (36th overall) and Jacob De La Rose (34th overall.)

► Career milestone for Radulov

• Habs forward Alex Radulov played in his 200th career NHL game on Saturday against the Sabres. Radulov has 137 career points. With the Predators in 2007-2008, he notched 58 points.
• With 34 games left in the season for Montreal, Radulov needs 24 points to eclipse that career best. Radulov sits first on the Canadiens in assists with 25.

► Terry leads ‘Caps

• Despite Chris Terry being put on waivers just last week and being re-assigned back to St. John’s, he hasn’t missed a step. In four games last week, the 27-year old notched two goals and three assists.
• Terry has played in 24 of the teams 42 games and leads the IceCaps in scoring with 31 points. The IceCaps were 1-2-1 last week including Saturday’s 4-2 win against Albany.
