Habs will try to continue regular season dominance of Flyers

From TSN:

Though the Canadiens stumbled in the playoffs last season versus the Flyers, they’ve had no problem beating them in the regular season. Montreal will try to top Philadelphia for an eighth straight time tonight in a battle between the clubs at the Bell Centre.

The top seed in last year’s playoffs, the Canadiens faced the Flyers in the second round after having defeated Philadelphia in all four regular season matchups. However, Philadelphia eliminated Montreal in five games.

The Habs didn’t lose their edge versus the Flyers, though, defeating them 5-3 in Philadelphia on October 13 to run their regular season winning streak over them to seven games. Montreal has also taken eight of its last nine versus the Flyers and three straight at the Bell Centre.

Philadelphia hasn’t defeated Montreal since a 4-2 road win on November 25, 2006 and hasn’t had a winning streak against the club since 2003.
