PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday that 14 players have been released from training camp.

Forwards Martin Reway (Gatineau – QMJHL) and Charles Hudon (Chicoutimi – QMJHL), and goaltender Zachary Fucale (Halifax – QMJHL) have been returned to their respective junior teams. Ten players have been assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs: forwards Joonas Nattinen, Stephen MacAulayStefan FournierSven AndrighettoLouis Leblanc and Erik Nyström, goaltender Robert Mayer and defencemen Morgan EllisDarren Dietz and Dalton Thrower. Defenceman Matt Lashoff will also be invited to report to the Bulldogs training camp.

There are still 38 players at camp, including five players sidelined due to injuries: Brian GiontaGeorge ParrosNathan Beaulieu, Steven Quailer and Alexei Emelin.

The Canadiens will play their next preseason game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday, September 20 at the Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City.

The Bulldogs will begin their training camp on Friday, September 20 in Hamilton.
