MONTREAL, QC. — The Montreal Canadiens have acquired Jordan Weal in a deal with the Arizona Coyotes for Michael Chaput.

Weal this season has four goals and seven assists in 47 games played while his career numbers so far are 20 goals and 24 assists in 153 games played with the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, and the Arizona Coyotes.

Weal was originally traded to the Coyotes from the Kings for Jacob Graves who is a minor league defenceman and a 2019 sixth round pick on January 11th.

Michael Chaput has five points in 30 games played this year with the big club in Montreal. His points career-wise are six goals and 16 assists in 167 games played in the NHL with Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Vancouver Canucks.

Chaput is a original draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010 drafted 89th overall.
