THE FIRST-EVER 3D BROADCAST OF CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA
COMES TO SCREENS DEC. 11
Weekend Coverage begins on Friday, Dec. 10 with Montreal vs. Detroit at 7 p.m. ET; Naslund jersey ceremony highlights Game Two Saturday night

Hockey fans across the country can witness a Canadian hockey broadcasting first on Saturday, Dec. 11, when CBC and Panasonic Canada bring Canadians the first-ever 3D presentation of CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT. Panasonic is the official 3-D and HD TV sponsor of CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA. Viewers with a 3D-ready television, along with the associated pair of glasses, will be able to watch the broadcast in 3D (please see channel information below). All CBC broadcasts will be available in HD, and will be broadcast in 2D on CBC channels as usual.

Kicking off the weekend will be a special Friday installment of CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, when the Habs take on the Western Conference powerhouse Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.

On Saturday, the excitement builds for the Saturday night broadcast with Scotiabank Hockey Tonight, which will include the debut of the first in a series of six new videos from the internationally acclaimed DJ Steve Porter. The first installment will highlight the storied rivalry between the Habs and the Leafs. Later that evening, CBCSports.ca will stream live the jersey retirement ceremony of former Canucks captain Markus Naslund. CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA will then air the ceremony on television prior to Game Two as the Canucks host Tampa Bay.

The December 11 3D broadcast will be available free to Bell TV subscribers on channel 1933 (Satellite TV) and 1208 (Fibe TV), Shaw Direct subscribers on channel 233/ 333 (Classic/Advanced), TELUS Optik TVTM subscribers on channel 656, TELUS Satellite TV® subscribers on channel 1933 and to Vidéotron subscribers on channel 800.
