MONTREAL, QC — Few phrases in Montreal Canadiens lore provoke more emotion or revive more memories than “The Forum“. Once called “the most storied building in hockey history” by Sporting News, the arena was home to nearly 18,000 Habs fans between 1924-1996.
Today that iconic structure on Cabot Square no longer echoes with the sounds of skates, sticks, pucks, and cheers amid Stanley Cup-winning excitement. However, Habs fans have found new ways to keep making their voices heard.
With this in mind, Rocket Sports Media is proud to bring you a new video column, Habs Fan Forum. The weekly video series is hosted by contributor Ben Dankiw. Each week he’ll take you on a journey to recap the highs and lows of the Habs from a fan’s perspective. So buckle up, it’s always a wild ride!
This Week:
On this week’s episode, Ben reacts to the Habs series sweep and gives his hyped-up thoughts on how these four games went down. He also discusses how the Habs have stacked up in general over the course of the postseason. The Habs are kings of the north, and it feels great!

little story bout that humilte eh;
here goes,
back a few years,1955 i beleive
a young player was ready to play for the big teamCH
his big brother was with the big team already
d.g.frank selke sr.calls up the player to sign the contract
with a figure$$$circled on his writing pad for what he intends to offer the player.he asks the young player if he would like to share any thoughts before the offer is tabled?the player says a few words.something like this:”thank you very much mr.selke for this chance to play for the big club and to be with my big brother maurice.it is my dream.all i want to do is to put on our “chandail-sacreCH” and play with my big brother maurice. whatever you offer me i trust will be fair et digne.”
when mr.selke heard this,he looked at his circled figure which he had written down to offer and he doubled it!!!
this player went on to play with his big brother maurice, jean,doug,dickie,ralph,emile,jacques,boom-boom and many,many other great teamates.and he did it with
modesty/humilite,pride/honor.and 11 coupes-stanley later,he retires from the game.that is who we are,i like to beleive.
