 Post-game Chatter

186237429_slideCoach Michel Therrien:

  • “We played [Tavares] really well 5-on-5 and he’s a demanding guy to play against. He’s a world-class player. I thought Plekanec’s line did a great job to make sure we kept him off the scoresheet first but I don’t believe he got a lot of scoring chances. We’re talking about Plekanec’s line and Gorges, Diaz doing a fantastic job. Those five guys, it was their mission tonight and they did a good job.”
  • “[The Eller line] competes. That’s the No. 1 reason that they have success. Together they compete. The chemistry is there obviously. To get success in this league you gotta compete. And when you compete you give yourself a chance to get results.”
  • Regarding Moen leaving the game: “He got sick (flu.) I called his name but he wasn’t on the bench. So what the hell is going on? Nobody told me. I didn’t know.”
  • “We try everything to get [Desharnais’] game back. Regarding David, it’s tough right now.”
  • “One thing for sure, we are seeing that the kid line (Eller, Gallagher, Galchenyuk) is having success because they compete. And for me, this is leadership, what they are doing.”
