 Post-game Chatter

Coach Michel Therrien:

  • “There’s a lot of good things to work on from tonight’s game. I thought we were solid, the way we approached the game.  Again tonight, we got a great start.  But we did not open up the game for no reason. We were patient waiting for our chances and we capitalized on it.”
  • The chemistry is there with [Plekanec, Gionta and Bournival.] One thing for sure, Bournival brings a lot of speed. He skates really well. He competes. And he’s taking advantage too play with two veteran players. Plekanec is playing very good right now. Gio is the same thing. So [Bournival] is using the experience that he got on that line to make himself successful.”
  • “[Beaulieu] skated well and made some good passes. He made a great play on the power-play just putting the puck on the net.  Kep his game smiple, this is what he must focus on. He’s got some skill but we want to make sure he defends well. And we want to make sure he keeps his game simple.”
  • “Koivu has been a great captain for 10 years , I believe. This is why (the Bell Centre) is a special place to play, a standing ovation at the end.  I was glad that (Anaheim coach) Bruce Boudreau out him on the ice for the last 20 seconds and gave a chance to the fans to recognize the courage that he got when he was in Montreal. Heads up to our fans, that’s the reason why Montreal is a special place.”
