Last game : MTL 2 PHI 5 Riding a winning streak, the Habs clearly underestimated their opponent. Despite having a huge shot advantage in the first period, the Canadiens did not bear down and take advantage of their chances. Once they feel behind, Montreal It’s a game that the team should move on from but not forget as those two points could become a factor in April.

Players to watch

Joel Armia
The Canadiens missed Armia while he was out with injury. Armia is a big body who creates space for his linemates and can be the defensively responsible component of any line. Armia and Artturi Lehkonen are Montreal’s two strongest penalty-killers.
Jeff Petry
Petry was able to hold the fort, for the most part, while Weber was injured. He is on pace for a career season in points.
Jonathan Drouin
Drouin’s poor attitude, selfish game and complete lack of work ethic are very concerning. But what’s even more disappointing is the treatment by Claude Julien who has done nothing to hold Drouin accountable.

Keys to Victory

Get physical
The Habs need to come out hard and play physical against the Coyotes. Arizona is at the end of a long road trip won’t be as ready for a physical contest.
Use your speed
Having played on Tuesday night, the Coyotes may have a good start but they will tire if the Canadiens use their speed.
Play until the whistle
If the Habs can’t finish plays, periods and games, they’re going to continue to let points get away from them.

What to Expect by Sam Gerber

Alex Galchenyuk returns to Montreal where he was drafted in 2012, third overall. He was never given the opportunity to be the center that Montreal hoped for when he was drafted. He didn’t have a coach who trusted him to play his game nor a general manager who could resist publicly trashing him on a regular basis. Plenty of fans still miss Galchenyuk and he is definitely missed on the power-play. Galchenyuk will be honoured with a video and will likely get a mixed reaction from Bell Centre fans. It will make for a great game before the Habs take some time off for the All-Star Game and bye week.
