Players to watch
- Max Domi
Domi will be relied on to improve his level of play which has been lacking so far this season. Domi has scored just four goals.
- Artturi Lehkonen
Lehkonen’s value was demonstrated in the game against the Capitals where he was clearly the best skater on the ice and a key reason why the Habs were able to knock off the league’s best.
- Jesperi Kotkaniemi
It’s unclear whether Kotkaniemi is fully healthy but expectations are that he needs to step up to improve on his successful rookie campaign.
Keys to Victory
- Improve zone entries
The Habs struggled on their zone entry against the Blue Jackets last week. Now it’s time the Habs execute their game plan.
- Share the load
The Canadiens are a team built without elite forwards, thereby lessening the impact with two players sidelined with injury.
- Play with vigor
The Habs lacked energy last game and with a couple days of rest the Habs need to come out flying matching the compete level of the Blue Jackets.

What to Expect by Sam Gerber |
The Habs and Blue Jackets battled to the end last season for the final playoff spot. The Blue Jackets loaded up at the deadline and it gave them the edge and bumped out the Habs. They went on a run but it wasn’t meant to be and in the off-season they lost a big portion of their playoff roster. The Habs can’t afford many losses to non playoff caliber teams this season if they want to make playoffs. |
