Last game : MTL 2 CGY 0 After snapping another eight-game winless streak on Saturday in Ottawa, the Canadiens played an almost perfect game. Carey Price was the hero of the night making 31 saves for his second shutout of the season and his 46th of his career tying Ken Dryden for third in team history. Ryan Poehling also scored his 1st of the season to give the Habs their second consecutive victory.
For a complete game recap: Price, Poehling Pace Habs to Win
Players to watch
- Ryan Poehling
After a slow start to the season which saw him earn a demotion back to Laval Poehling has started to show why the Habs drafted him. Starting on the fourth line he now finds himself on the third line and playing special teams due to his improved play.
- Jordan Weal
After returning to the line up last game Weal has shown some improvement in his game. He will need to keep the offense going to help the Habs in their playoff run otherwise he made find himself back in the press box.
- Charlie Lindgren
Lindgren will get the start and it’s important he not only plays well but gets a win. He’s done extremely well so far in the games he’s played but needs help from his teammates to get a win.
Keys to Victory
- Play better defence
Montreal will need to limit their scoring chances.
- Win special teams
The Montreal Canadiens will have to stay out of the box and take advantage of every power-play they get.
- Play sixty minutes
During the most recent losing streak everything collapsed in the final frame. The Canadiens improved last game but will need to keep it going to secure a win and a much needed two points.

What to Expect by Elias Laradi |
The Montreal Canadiens facing a team just ahead of them in the standings in the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks are playing the second game of a back-to-back and Montreal will need to capitalize on that. Fatigue might be an issue so expect a tight battle between these two clubs.. |
