TORONTO, ON. — It was a fast and physical game of rivals on Saturday night in Boston when the Habs met the Bruins at the TD Garden for their second game of the 2015-2016 season.

“I’m kind of sick of hearing that we’re a team that’s just about Carey, Obviously he’s the best goaltender in the world […] but I think we’re a better team than that. But we’ve got to show that. We’ve got to show that in the game that we’re better. We’ve got to help him out a little bit more.” – Tomas Plekanec

It may be safe to say that the Canadiens went into Saturday night’s game feeling the desire to be more than their goalie. They wanted to play a solid 60 minutes of hockey, as a team, and they did.

Here’s a look at some of the most talked about moments from the Habs 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins:

Once again, it did not take too long for the boys to make it onto the scoreboard with an early power play goal scored by David Desharnais.

There have been a lot of whispers around the Habs community about the amount of time Desharnais spends on the ice but I think everyone can agree that he showed up tonight.

Just like any meeting between the Bruins and the Canadiens it did not take long for things to get heated.

In a not-so-shocking turn of events, Carey Price made his job look easy, making some great saves early on.

Have we for sure confirmed that he is, in fact, human?

After 20 minutes of play the Habs lead the Bruins, 1- 0. The second period saw a nice slide pass from Alex Semin to Lars Eller that number 81 turned into a beautiful goal to advance the Habs’ lead.

ELLERGOAL

The Canadiens are now 2-for-2 in terms of games with coach’s challenge against. This time it was Boston coach, Claude Julien calling into question a no goal call made by officials.

CoachsChallenge

The Coach’s challenge was unsuccessful and Claude Julien was not pleased, to say the least.

Not long after, Lars Eller scored his second of the night, proving the line of Eller – Semin – Galchenyuk may end up being quite the force to be reckoned with this season.

Meanwhile, Carey continued to make some golden saves,..

however, he was unable to stop this shot by Bergeron who put the Bruins on the board. After 40 minutes of play the Canadiens led by 3-1.

In the third period, Montreal continued to dominate in terms of shots on net, really putting Rask, who has never been able to defeat the Habs on Boston ice, to work.

Ryan Spooner got a five minute major and a game misconduct for this hit on Brian Flynn,

and before long, Marchand joined Spooner on a penalty for slashing, giving the Habs a 2-man advantage.

As the game came to a close, Julien pulled Rask leaving room for Tomas Plekanec to nail an open netter and his 500th career point in the NHL.

Empty Netter

During the final minute of play Bergeron scored for Boston,

however, it just wasn’t enough and the Habs took the ‘W’ over the Bruins, 4-2.

WooTeamWork

This is one that I think we can all be happy with and if we can get this team  to show up for 60 minutes each game night we may be in for one heck of a season!

Next up, the Canadiens are off to Ottawa to take on the Senators on Sunday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.
