TORONTO, ON.– Saturday night hockey between bitter rivals the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins, it’s the stuff hockey fans live for. This match up, their second of the season, did not disappoint. It was fast and physical, as it usually is with the Bruins.

“It was a tough first period, we took three penalties and they took control of the momentum of the game. We just had to put it all behind us and start over again. And we did. I thought we played very well in the second and third periods.” – Tomas Plekanec

While things may have started off a bit rough for the Habs, Mike Condon was impressive once again filling in for Carey Price who remained out of the lineup with a lower body injury and the team was able to rally for the last 60 minutes and take the W.

Here’s a look at some of the best moments from the at-home victory against the Bruins.

Condon was strong in nets, despite coming off a bit less cool, calm and collected than his usual. Regardless, he continued to prove how deserving he is of his role on this team.

Despite the slow start there were a few strong plays in the first period, like this one between Plekanec and Max Pacioretty…

… and this great hit by Alexei Emelin but the offense just wasn’t there and after 20 minutes, Boston led 1-0 thanks to a PPG by Louis Eriksson.

The Habs rallied and came out strong to start the second period, with Tomas Plekanec scoring within 2 minutes of the period. We were all tied up at 1-1.

In what would become a successful third period for the home team, Lars Eller kicked things off with a goal, making it 2-1.

David Desharnais, who despite some early criticism from fans, has been having one heck of a season thus far, sent one past Jonas Gustavsson to make it 3-2 for the bleu, blanc et rouge.

Captain Max Pacioretty solidified the victory but sending an empty net goal between the pipes.

The Habs were up 4-2 but with under a minute left to go in the game, Nathan Beaulieu was sent to the dressing room following this hit against Zac Rinaldo. Debate on the internet ensued about whether or not the hit was warranted, what did you think? Let us know on Twitter @AllHabs.

Up next, the Canadiens head to Pittsburgh to face Sidney Crosby and the Pens on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
