Game Preview by Sam Gerber |
Last game: MTL 4 DAL 2
The Canadiens took advantage of a bad start by Dallas. Nikita Scherbak scored a highlight reel goal. The most memorable part of the game was Andrew Shaw injuring himself while trying to deliver a hit. With his past concussion history, fans hope that he can make a recovery.
For a complete recap: Lehkonen Leads Habs Over Dallas
Players to watch
- Sidney Crosby
Crosby is still the league’s best all-round player and is a nightmare to matchup against.
- Derek Brassard
The Pens got even deeper at the dot and Brassard should get a favorable matchup against the Habs.
- Jonathan Drouin
Drouin had a good night on the power-play against the Stars. But Drouin and his line was dominated by Dallas forwards at even strength.
Keys to Victory
- Get (at least) three
As Michel Therrien said, if the Habs score three goals they, they have a good chance to win. Unfortunately, three might not be enough against the talented Penguins.
- Ride the power-play
The Canadiens power-play was great against Dallas and was a big part of the win.
- Rise to the occasion
While the Habs are out-gunned, using that as motivation will be a big key in the game.

What to Expect by Sam Gerber |
Prediction: Canadiens 2 Penguins 3
With the Penguins missing their starting goalie, the Canadiens need to take advantage. It’s a given that the Pens are going to score, but the Habs have to work hard and take advantage of their chances. Keeping it simple, staying in position and keeping the turnovers to a minimum will go a long way for the Habs. |
