• Paul Maurice on the Jets’ win versus the Blue Jackets Saturday night: “I watched that game (Columbus vs. Washington) very closely last night and they played a great game and I think they spent a lot of energy in it, so we were able to come out and get on them early, we would have liked a few more pucks to the net, but we had a lot of offensive zone time.”
• Michel Therrien on Friday’s win versus the Flames: “They were really good tonight. They spent a lot of time in the offensive zone, they were solid defensively, and they were very productive as a group, too,”
• Dale Weise on the team’s win versus the Flames: “We needed a win, and we got a complete effort. A lot of guys chipped in,”
• It was announced today that Carey Price is out with a lower-body injury and Dustin Tokarski was recalled from the AHL.
• The Canadiens and Jets both won a game a piece in the 2014-15 season, with both teams being successful on home ice.
• The Canadiens return home from a less than stellar road trip, going 1-2-0 in their past three games. With 7 of their next 8 games on home ice, the Canadiens have an opportunity to get back to the winning ways they had before they departed to Western Canada.
• While the Canadiens rank 1st in the league with 45 goals, the Jets are close behind in 4th place with 35. In terms of defense, the Jets have allowed 28 goals so far this season (13th place) and the Canadiens have allowed just 23 (5th place).

2015-16 statistics

•  Both Mike Condon and Michael Hutchinson are young inexperienced goaltenders and are facing high powered offenses. Both have put up great numbers so far this season but in a very small sample size. The Winnipeg Jets are on the back end of back to back games and are on the road, which usually doesn’t bode well for the performance of any team. It would be a risk to start either tonight, but if I had to choose one it would be Mike Condon.

1. Blake Wheeler (7 points in 5 games)
2. Brian Little, Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien, and Mathieu Perreault (all with 4 points in 5 games)

• Top scorers for the Canadiens at home this season are:

1. David Desharnais, Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Plekanec (all with 4 points in 4 games)
2. Alex Galchenyuk, Max Pacioretty, P. K. Subban and Tomas Fleischmann (all with 3 points in 4 games)

• One quick note on the Jets offense. Both Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler have struggled in the past versus the red, white and blue. Little has a career average of 0.62 points per game over his 567 game career but versus the Canadiens, that point per game averaged has dipped to 0.27  (over a 22 game span). Blake Wheeler has a career average of 0.69 points per game over his 544 career NHL games and is sporting a 0.52 points per game versus the Canadiens in 29 games played. Unless your roster is full already in a very shallow league, these two players are must starts, but I would avoid them in daily leagues.
