Game Preview by Sam Gerber |
Last game: MTL 1 BOS 2
Penalties were again a problem for the Canadiens. Some poor calls didn’t help matters. The Bruins eventually scored on the power-play with Jonathan Drouin in the box and Brad Marchand took advantage of poor coverage by Drouin in overtime to seal it for the Bruins.

Players to watch
- Brendan Gallagher
Gallagher can help get the Canadiens off to a good start against the Devils. He has scored the first goal of the game nine times this season to lead the league.
- Taylor Hall
Hall is in the midst of an incredible streak with points in his last 25 games going back to December 30th. He missed three games at the end of January with an injury so his point streak officially stands at 18 games.
- Charlie Lindgren
With Carey Price and Antti Niemi out with injuries, the netminding duties will be left in the capable hands of Charlie Lindgren. The 24-year-old has been outstanding this season when asked to step in.
Keys to Victory
- Limit the damage
Hall is the Devils biggest contributor and a threat to push the offense every time he is on the ice. The Canadiens must limit his opportunities.
- Take no penalties
Poor officiating aside, the Canadiens keep putting themselves in bad situations and penalties have been called. Habs must do better and not take lazy penalties.
- Be hard on the stick
Montreal has been guilty of too many turnovers resulting from soft play.

What to Expect by Sam Gerber |
Prediction: Canadiens 2 Devils 3
Every game counts for the Devils, who should come out flying. Hall will likely be dangerous all night. Expect Lehkonen to play a shutdown role against him. With the injury bug claiming more players for the Habs they will be in tough against the Devils. |
