Habster:

Here is my translation of the above RDS article which states that Bob Gainey recently touched base with Mats Sundin’s agent, J.P. Barry to re-affirm the Canadiens’s interest in his client.

Translation:

According to our colleague Renaud Lavoie, Canadiens GM Bob Gainey had a discussion yesterday with the agent of Mats Sundin, JP Barry. Gainey wanted to make sure that the Sundin clan is aware the Canadian still wish to obtain his services.

Bob Gainey provided Sundin with a lot of space during the last few weeks in order to enable him to think of his future but he believed the moment had come to renew contact with his agent.

Mats Sundin should indicate Friday if he will return to the play next season. He will decide a few days later his destination. If he returns to the play, he will begin his on ice training next week in Sweden.
