HAMILTON, ON – Hamilton Bulldogs and Montreal Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the signing of Peter Lenes and Joey Haddad to Professional Try-Out contracts.

Lenes, 25, has played in 17 games for the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers this season, recording 20 points (14 goals, 6 assists) on 73 shots on goal, four penalty minutes, and a +11 plus/minus rating. The 5-foot-4, 158-pound left-winger is tied for second in goals scored for the Nailers. Lenes has also suited up for the ECHL’s Trenton Titans in 2011-2012, playing 32 games and recording 12 points (7 goals, 5 assists) with 98 shots on goal and 18 penalty minutes. The Shelburne, Vermont native played in Austria in 2010-2011, suiting up for 49 games with the Graz 99ers and registering 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) on 22 shots on goal while maintaining a +3 plus/minus rating. Lenes has previously played with Hamilton Bulldogs forward Philip DeSimone, suiting up for the USHL’s Sioux City Musketeers in 2004-2005.

Haddad, 23, has played in eight AHL games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this season, recording two shots and two penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-winger has also suited up for 38 games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators in 2011-2012, recording 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) on 95 shots on goal, 88 penalty minutes and a + 2 plus/minus rating. In 2010-2011, the Sydney, Nova Scotia native played 50 games for the Wheeling Nailers, collecting 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists), which ranked him third on the team for goals, and registering 135 shots, 93 penalty minutes and a + 1 plus/minus rating. Haddad also played in 16 games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL last season, recording four points (1 goal, 3 assists) on 18 shots on goal, and 15 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs’ next game will take place on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. when they host the St. John’s IceCaps on Home Depot Night. The ‘Dogs continue their 3-in-3 weekend on Saturday, February 18th, 2012 when they take on the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. at Copps Coliseum before travelling to Rochester on Sunday, February 19th, 2012 to face the Americans at 5:05 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena.
