Dogs nip Monsters 3-2 to regain North Division lead

Below is an excerpt from the Hamilton Spectator game review by Garry McKay of the Bulldogs 3-2 win against the Monsters:

Ben Maxwell got them started at 7:34. Max Pacioretty sprung him free down the left side. He deked Lake Erie goaltender Jason Bacashihua and beat him with a backhand.

The Dogs were on a power play at 12:21 when Mike Glumac scored his fourth of the year to make it 2-0 for Hamilton.

Glumac was streaking down the slot when Mathieu Carle made a seeing-eye pass from the right boards across the front of the net. Glumac arrived just in time to redirect the puck up over Bacashihua into the net.

The tide appeared to turn when T.J. Hensick scored for Lake Erie at 16:28. Nigel Williams’ shot was wide, but Hensick jumped on the loose puck behind the net and banked it in off of Dogs goalie Marc Denis.

They tied the game at 2-2 at the 17-minute mark of the second when Jesse Boulerice sent Brian Willsie in all alone and he banked one in off the post.

Ryan White found a loose puck in front of the net and lifted a backhand past Bacashihua at 9:27 of the third to give the Bulldogs the win and move them past idle Syracuse and back into first in the North Division.
