Desharnais Signs, Belle Bolts, Markov to Swear an Oath

RDS is reporting that David Desharnais has signed two-way contract with the Canadiens. Desharnais will receive $ 575,000 with the Canadiens and $ 65,000 while he remains in Hamilton.

Desharnais’ agent Joe Tacopina says he and his client have been told that David will be given every opportunity to play in Montreal this season. He will competing for a forward spot on the roster with Max Pacioretty, Ben Maxwell, Ryan White and Brock Trotter.

The 5’6″, 175 lb. center tallied 27 goals and 51 assists last season with the Bulldogs. He also played six games with the Canadiens.

Andrei Markov, who was born just outside of Moscow in Voskresensk, Russia will become a Canadian citizen this week. The ceremony will take place in a Montreal courtroom.

Shawn Belle signed a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers. Belle had three goals and 16 assists with the Bulldogs last season. He also played two games with the Canadiens.

  1. Would just LOVE to see a line of Gionta-Desharnais-Cammy one of these days… with Gill and O'Byrne on D. Wouldn't that be funny?
