Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the club has assigned defenceman Mathieu Carle to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Carle, 21, has been out of action since suffering an injury in a pre-season game with the Canadiens. Last year, the native of Gatineau, Quebec competed in his first professional season with the Bulldogs recording 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) and earning 43 penalty minutes in 64 games.
