MONTREAL – Goaltender Carey Price is the Montreal Canadiens Molson Cup Player of the Year for the 2014-15 season. He earns this honor for the fifth consecutive season (2010-11 to 2014-15).

Born in Anahim Lake, British Columbia, Price, the Canadiens’ Player-of-the-Month for every segment this season, finished ahead of teammates Max Pacioretty, Tomas Plekanec, Brendan Gallagher and David Desharnais.

The netminder played 64 games thus far in the 2014-15 regular season, for a career total of 433 games, ranking him third on the team’s all-time list for most games played by a goaltender. The 27-year old netminder has a record of 42 wins, 16 losses and 6 overtime/shootout losses.  He leads the NHL in victories and tied the team record for the most wins in a season by a goaltender. Price ranks first in the NHL with a 1.93 goals-against-average and a .935 save percentage (two career personal-bests), stopping 1,780 of the 1,904 shots he faced.

Price recorded nine shutouts in 2014-15, also a personal-best, ranking him tied for first among NHL goaltenders. He now boasts 34 career shutouts, which has him tied for fourth in team history.

In 2014-15, the Molson Cup scoring system awarded three points for a first star selection, two points for a second star selection and a single point for a third star selection.
