Canadiens Recall Kyle Chipchura

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday that forward Kyle Chipchura has been recalled from the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.

Chipchura leads the Hamilton Bulldogs (tied with Ryan Russell) this season with a plus-18 rating. In 33 games with the Canadiens’ affiliate club, the centreman also scored 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) and served 29 penalty minutes.

Chipchura, the Canadiens’ first round selection, 18th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, played eight games with Montreal this season, collecting two points (two assists), serving five penalty minutes with an average ice time of 10:50.

He is expected to join the Canadiens today in Colorado.
