Game Preview |
A Look Back
The Habs let an early lead get away from them and collapsed in the third allowing the Jets to score five unanswered goals spoiling Ducharme’s first game as interim head coach.
Last game: MTL 3 WPG 6 F

Players to Watch
- Jake Allen
Allen will be looking to get back to winning column having lost his previous two starts. It’s clear that the Habs must be much better defensively no matter who is in goal.
- Phillip Danault
One player who needed a fresh start was Danault. The Habs centre had close to 22 minutes of icetime last game. But it’s up to Danault to earn that icetime and to perform in whichever role he’s given.
- Jeff Petry
Petry will play in his 700th career NHL game, he hasn’t scored in the last seven games but be is one point short from averaging a point per game this season.
Keys to Victory
- Execute the message
With the coaching change the Habs need to make sure they execute the changes communicated by the coaching staff.
- Bring the work ethic
While its a team game, the Habs have to make sure individually they’re always out-working their counterpart.
- Win special teams
The Habs worked on the power-play during morning skate which is rare. It will take some time but expect a different look on the power-play tonight.

Pre-game Quotes |
Dominique Ducharme
- “With everything that happened before the last game, in the last few hours before we played, I didn’t mind how we reacted at first, but we cracked. We’ve got a better idea why now, and the players understand a little bit more. Tonight, I’m confident we’ll see those things that we talked about really taking a big step forward on maybe four or five things.”.
