Hockey is back!: Today is the first day of 2011-12 Montreal Canadiens training camp.  Before you rush out to Brossard, players will be busy with medical exams on Friday.  Scrimmages, open to the public, will take place on September 17, 18 and 19.  Further information including a full roster is available at 2011 Training Camp.

Armstrong and Subban join forces: Since 2008, the Cedars Cancer Institute has been hosting the Tour de Lance charity bike weekend in Montreal and Mont Tremblant.  The main event was the 1st annual Cedars Summit on Cancer Survivorship hosted by Lance Armstrong.  P.K. Subban was the guest of honour and Yvan Cournoyer was the keynote speaker for the dinner.  Over the years the event has raised over $3 million for the MUHC and the Sarah Cook Fund.

“We look forward to the day we don’t have to be here. And let’s not forget that goal.” — Lance Armstrong

Archambault turns the page: Canadiens prospect Olivier Archambault had a strong showing at the just completed Habs Rookie Camp.  He was chosen in the fourth round, 108th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Players who tweet get rules!: Remember Dan Ellis’ meltdown on Twitter? The NHL has finally issued a social media policy for its players who use Facebook and Twitter.  The policy is a collaborative effort from the NHL and NHLPA and includes a ban on using social media during games.
