► Plekanec under scrutiny.

  • With the NHL intent to clamp down on diving, Elliotte Friedman reported that Tomas Plekanec may be in the cross-hairs of league officials as the season begins.”3. The first example the NHL showed in its diving video was Tomas Plekanec’s head-snap in the Eastern Conference Final. The league wasn’t so sure about publicly naming those warned or fined, but the players pressed for it. Montreal’s centre is going to be closely watched at the start of the season.”

Not all leaders wear a letter.

  • Coach Michel Therrien on Carey Price‘s leadership: “One guy we don’t want to forget is Carey Price. If the League would allow us to give him a letter, certainly he would have [had one] considering his position with the team. But he’s part of that group. Carey’s a good leader for us, the way he handles himself on the ice, off the ice. Certainly he’s going to be part of it when I meet the players. In the past, every time, I was having meetings with the captain and the assistants. This year, [Price] is going to be there.”
