	On this day in hockey history… 1934 –  Canadiens’ Armand Mondou became the first player in NHL history to take a penalty shot. He missed in his attempt against George Hainsworth of Toronto. Three days later Ralph Bowman of St. Louis scored the first penalty shot goal in NHL history.

• Rene Bourque cleared waivers and was assigned by the Canadiens to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

► Monday’s Practice

• Prior to this morning’s practice, 30 minutes was devoted to working with the special teams.
• With Michael Bournival out indefinitely with a shoulder injury and Rene Bourque sent to Hamilton, coach Michel Therrien indicated that a forward would be recalled from the Bulldogs.
• The following were the forward lines and defence pairings at practice on Friday morning.

• The city of Montreal continues to buzz about the Guy Lapointe jersey retirement prior to Saturday night’s game against Minnesota.
• One of the evening’s more memorable lines was when Lapointe thanked his father saying, “I’d also like to thank my father, who made no mistake thinking that I’d be a better hockey player than a policeman.”

► De La Rose achievement

• On Saturday night, Canadiens’ prospect, Jacob De La Rose, scored his first goal as a professional for the Hamilton Bulldogs.
• Against the Adirondack Flames, De La Rose scored a shorthanded goals to  give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Complete game recap is here.

► Kreider strikes again

• Canadiens fans won’t soon forget Chris Kreider‘s reckless hit on Carey Price in last spring’s playoffs, ending Price’s season and changing the outcome of the series.
• On Sunday, Kreider received a goalie interference penalty for clipping Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth.
