Dandenault out with broken arm

Habster:

Needless to say, not great news for Guy Carbonneau and the team.

The way Christopher Higgins was holding onto his hand would indicate either a shoulder or hand problem. We’ll hold our collective breathes and hope for the best.

The Dandenault injury (broken arm) will sideline the 11 year veteran for 2-3 months. It’s ashamed as Mathieu was playing well the last few games along the blueline with a solid, “play it safe” defensive style of game which was very effective.

As far as call-ups are concerned, there won’t be a need for another forward with Latendresse and Laraque sitting in the press box tonight.

In the short term, re-calling a defenseman makes more sense as Komisarek is still 7-10 days away from returning to the lineup and Carbonneau will need a seventh defenseman in case of injury or illness like the flu.
