Excerpt from the TSN game preview:

The Montreal Canadiens will try to get their woeful power play back on track tonight when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

Watch the game live on the NHL on TSN at 7pm et/4pm pt on TSN and TSN HD.

After owning the league’s best power play last season, the Canadiens have struggled hard in 2008-09. They rank near the bottom of the NHL in percentage (14.6), scoring two goals in their last 36 chances and going 0-for-10 in a 3-2 shootout win at St. Louis on Sunday.

Alex Kovalev scored the lone goal in the shootout and Carey Price stopped all three attempts as the Canadiens avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season.

Prior to the win over the Blues, Price was peppered in a 6-1 loss to the Bruins on Thursday and then backup netminder Jaroslav Halak lost 2-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Price will start in goal again tonight.

The Habs are averaging 2.5 goals during a 2-3-1 stretch after posting 3.5 per game in a season-opening 8-1-1 run.
