A bad first period killed the Hamilton Bulldogs Saturday night and a bad third period proved to be their undoing yesterday afternoon.On Saturday night in Grand Rapids the Dogs were behind 4-0 before the game was nine minutes old and ended up losing 6-4.Yesterday afternoon at Copps Coliseum the Quad City Flames scored two unanswered third period goals to blank the Dogs 2-0.“We worked hard for the first two periods and in the third period we came out flat,” said Matt D’Agostini. “The game’s 60 minutes and if we’re going to want to win games we have to learn to play 60 minutes. That’s three games in a row that we’ve given away points by taking a period off and we can’t afford to do that.
