An excerpt from the Hamilton Spectator by Garry McKay:

“We didn’t have much spark. There were a lot of guys that didn’t have much spark,” said Bulldogs coach Don Lever.“We battled back but you don’t like to keep having those situations. I’d like to see us be ready to play and we talk about it.”

Goaltender Marc Denis, who has played very well for the Bulldogs so far this season, gave up the first three goals and was yanked at 4:51 of the first period and replaced by Cedrick Desjardins.

Lever said the three goals weren’t Denis’s fault but felt he had to make a change.Desjardins ended up taking the loss.
