There is no way anyone can say this wasn’t a head shot by Sauer. His left forearm come up and nails Andrei Kostitsyn’s head….anybody who thinks otherwise is legally blind!!!

  1. You have to realize what Kurt Sauer is and what keeps him in the NHL. For a player like Sauer, to pass up a hit like that is equivalent to Kostitsyn passing up a breakaway pass, or a shot at an empty net. Different players get to the league by different means. Kurt Sauer CAN’T pass up that hit if he wants to stay in the NHL and make the big bucks. If Laraque goes a few games without challenging anyone to a fight while his teammates get pushed around he will be sitting on the bench or put on waivers. If Sauer doesn’t inspire fear in opposing forwards, he gets shipped out for someone who will, or a more skilled defenseman.

  2. Yes that’s true but it doesn’t make the hit legal. A forearm to the head is an elbow in any rule book and a suspension should have been handed out…period!
