 Post-game Chatter

Coach Michel Therrien:

  • “We felt more comfortable as the game went on but if it was not for Carey Price, especially the way we played the first half of the game, we probably wouldn’t be able to win this hockey game. He was the big reason for the success of the hockey team tonight.”
  • “Special teams had a good impact tonight. The more the game went on, the more we were able to play our style of hockey and definitely the third period was a solid one and we controlled the puck pretty well.”
  • “Carey Price is having a good start to the season. Tonight he was outstanding. Certainly there was extra motivation to come into this building and play here in front of his family and friends. I’m really happy for him that he was able to play that way. He was in a zone. He was solid. He was square to the puck. But honestly, I really like the way Carey Price has played for us since the beginning of the year.”
  • “[On our second goal] we got lucky. Nothing wrong to be lucky at times.”
  • “We made some adjustments between the first and second [periods.] They came really hard at us.  They were attacking our defensemen pretty hard and with the adjustments that we made I think that it helped our team but when we made mistakes Carey was there to shut the door. If it wasn’t for Carey the result was not going to be the same because we could have been in trouble early in the game. Carey was there.”
  • “I really liked the way all our lines played tonight. Pleky scored a nice goal, a nice pass from Andrei Markov on a power-play. His responsibility is a little bit different with the team right now because he’s playing with the two young kids (Galchenyuk and Gallagher.) The two young kids are surrounded by a good player and a good leader in Plekanec.  I’m glad that he got results and that he scored a nice goal.”

Canucks forward Henrik Sedin:

  • “[Carey Price] was on top of his game, he played great and we couldn’t make the most of our chances.”
