Petry – Toffoli Get-together

Julie Petry posted a photo on her Instagram story of Jeff Petry, Tyler Toffoli, Cat Toffoli and herself with a caption that read “Only took 8 months & for them to come to Michigan to hang out with the Toffolis for the first time!”

Another Feast From the Cup

Habs forward Cedric Paquette was signed as a free agent by Marc Bergevin on July 28th after the 28-year-old spent last season with the Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes.  In 2019-20, Paquette won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning but didn’t get a chance to have his day with the trophy due to COVID-19 restrictions. So on Thursday, in  his hometown of Saint-Majorique, Quebec, it was Paquette and shrimp poutine from the Cup!

Out For a Stroll

Newly-signed Habs defenceman David Savard followed up his meal of mashed potatoes, scallops and caviar from Lord Stanley’s Mug by taking the Cup for a walk through the streets of Quebec City.

“We’re going to try to bring it back (to Montreal), that’s the plan for next year,” said Savard. “What I’d like is to be back in Lac-Beauport (his residence) with the Cup next year.”

“I’m looking forward to putting on the skates and playing a first game at Bell Centre,”  said the Canadiens defenceman. “It will be nice to be closer to my family and my friends.”

Killorn Trolling the Habs?

There has been a good deal of concern by Habs fans and Montreal media that Alex Killorn was thumbing his nose at the Canadiens when he took a photo with the Stanley Cup in front of the Bell Centre. It simply doesn’t pass credulity to suggest that Killorn didn’t know exactly what he was doing.

The Quebec-born Killorn finally spoke up on the incident saying, “.. I wanted to take a picture outside of [the Bell Centre.] Was it a little bit trolling? Maybe, but I wasn’t trying to take away anything from the Canadiens or anything like that. But, whatever, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.”

NHL 22 Cover Reveal

On Thursday, EA Sports revealed Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews as the cover athlete of NHL 22. It is the second time in three years that Matthews has held the honour. The video game launches worldwide for all platforms on October 15th.
