After having a week off, the Habs took advantage of playing a team ending a long road trip. Carey Price earned his first shutout of the season while all four Montreal lines played with energy.

Players to Watch

  • Jeff Petry
    Petry had a quiet game against the Oilers but he will be leaned on the rest of this season and the Habs need him to be at his best.
  • Brendan Gallagher
    It was stereotypical Gallagher goal against the Oilers, getting to a loose puck and scoring from the blue paint. Hopefully, he can spark his team once again tonight.
  • Jesperi Kotkaniemi
    Kotkaniemi played a great game on Tuesday. KK scored early and did enough to frustrate McDavid, not easy thing to do. If Kotkaniemi can do that on a nightly basis to his opponents he will have a long successful career.

Keys to Victory

  • Maintain the energy
    The Habs shot out of a cannon last game and need to do just that again. Montreal cannot let the Sens get settled it.
  • Dictate the pace
    The pesky Sens love to trap teams and control the play. The Habs need to dictate the play from puck drop.
  • Make quality shots
    The injury bug has affected several Sens goalies. The Habs need to test whoever is between the pipes.

The Habs potentially have a ten point gap on the two teams fighting with them for the final fourth seed. It’s the Habs spot to lose if they can’t put wins together against the Sens.

Bottom Line

Jake Allen will be looking to get his first win in almost two months. His last victory came against the Senators on February 6th.
