Barys Astana of the KHL have announced the signing of Dustin Boyd and Nigel Dawes on the club’s website. It should be noted that Boyd and Dawes remain under contract to the Montreal Canadiens. They both become restricted free agents on July 1, 2011.

Dustin Boyd was signed by the Canadiens as an unrestricted free agent to a one-year contract on July 1, 2010.

Nigel Dawes was obtained in a trade with the Atlanta Thrashers on February 24, 2011 along with Brent Sopel for Ben Maxwell and a 4th round pick in the 2011 NHL draft.
