PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL — Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of February. Price, who was the overall Molson Cup award winner in 2008-09, is the recipient of the award for the fourth month of the 2010-11 season, after taking the honours in October, November and once again in December. Tomas Plekanec earned the award in January.

Price received 1,794 fan votes in the Molson Cup standings in February. Price finished ahead of teammates David Desharnais (1,105 votes) and Tomas Plekanec (1,065 votes).

The 23-year old goaltender had a 4-5-1 record in 10 games in February, with a 2.62 goals against average. He stopped 282 of the 308 shots he faced for a .916 save percentage. Price recorded two shutouts; on February 5 he blanked the New York Rangers and whitewashed the Maple Leafs on February 12.

Carey Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to the March 8 game against the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre.
